We’re sad to see summer go, but the new hair trends bursting on the scene are making it easier to welcome fall.
While some of summer’s trends are only getting a small tweak or are powering through to the next season, we’re also seeing lots of new colors and styles that we can’t wait to try on our amazing clients.
So whether you’re looking to simply spruce up your look with the season or you’re jonesing for a complete transformation, the latest fall 2015 hair and color trends are proving to have something for everyone.
Color
Balayage (or ombré as it’s more widely known) is one of those color trends that isn’t going away anytime soon, however we’re expecting this fall to bring even more subtleties in the balayage technique by keeping the lighter color very minimal and peek-a-boo-esque. One of the terms used to describe this look is “babylights” and it can be done with almost any color, although we love it with a rich brown.
Speaking of rich brown, which is always one of the popular colors for fall, we’re loving cool, deep browns with just a touch of lighter color to add dimension. And for brunette ladies who want to keep it dark, but add some edge, aubergine, is one of our favorite shades for this season. For those who want to make a statement with bold, but can’t go too wild, aubergine is the perfect fit.
And don’t think we forgot about blondes! The look that was all over the fall runways was platinum blonde. Think more on the cool, silvery side of blonde rather than the golden side.
Cuts
The lob is still holding strong, but if you’ve been wanting to take off a few more inches, fall’s the time to do it!
Some of this season’s hottest cuts are short crops, asymmetrical bobs, and tousled pixies. But for those who aren’t feeling shorter strands, the way to keep your mid-length or longer hair on trend and in style is with lots of layers.
We saw a big trend of one-length hair last fall, but layers are back to bring volume and movement throughout your style. Or if you’ve already got the long layers or a lob, we love how Kerry Washington added some fringe to her look.
Styles
We’re starting to see the curling wand trend fall by the wayside in favor of more tousled, imperfect and windswept styles this fall. Whether it’s curly or straight, nothing is meant to look too “done” this season.
Braids are continuing to be popular whether it’s a full fishtail or just a small braid incorporated in to a ponytail, this style remains a favorite way to add texture and playfulness to a look. Half-up, half-down styles are also taking over with the half-up top knot, or even just a played-down bouffant.
