Greysha joined Bang just four months ago, but she’s a total pro! Nervous about a big chop or a bold new color? Greysha is here to guide you through that process (we know it can be just a little nerve-racking). We caught up with her to chat about what it’s like working at Bang, her craziest client story (hint: it involves a lot of broken glass), and her epic travel plans for the next five years.
When did you know that you wanted to be a hairstylist?
I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist in high school. That’s when I started to practice doing hair and makeup on my cross country teammates. I loved the reaction I got from them when they saw their hair and helping them feel beautiful.
So far, what do you enjoy most about working at Bang?
I enjoy the positive environment and the fast pace. There is rarely a slow day, and I love staying busy with clients in my chair.
What’s your craziest client story?
My craziest client story has got to be from back in Texas. I had just got done with an elderly client’s hair. She got in her car to drive away, but instead of putting her car in reverse, she put it in drive and drove through the glass wall of the eye doctor’s office next to our salon. Luckily, nobody was inside at the time, and she didn’t get hurt.
What would you say to someone who’s unsure about trying a new cut or color?
I always say hair will grow back. If you’ve been thinking about changing your haircut, I’m here to help you do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable. That either means going for a big chop or working slowly and taking an inch off at a time. As for color, I always recommend semi-permanent dye hair dye — it lasts about 4-8 weeks, then it washes off — just to try it out and see if you like it. There’s no commitment since it isn’t permanent.
Outside the salon, how do you spend your time?
When I’m not at work, I’m playing with my English bulldog Hugo, working out, reading, or traveling. A couple of years ago, I decided I wanted to see all 50 states in five years. I’m on track to finish the last 30 states in 3 years. I also really enjoy traveling to go to music festivals. I have a VIDA membership and love going to the classes — so far my favorite class is VIDA RX!
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go?
It would be New Zealand. All of the pictures I’ve seen have the most breathtaking scenery. I love hiking and kayaking, which is what I would do if I ever went.
