Hair Trends: Hair Accessories Inspired by Nature
We’ve found that women usually fall in to one of two categories when it comes to hair trends, they’re either all for hair accessories and wear them regularly, or they never wear hair accessories.
If you fall in to the latter category, stick with us here, we think this latest hair trend is one that you can get behind because unlike many other hair accessories, this one is much more natural looking (pun intended).
One of the hottest hair trends for fall is metallic botanicals such as leaves, flowers and other elements, so combine that with the delicate hair accessories trend and you’ve got a winning combination that you can take from day to night, or even to your wedding day.
Here are our top 5 accessories inspired by nature:
It was hard to find a close up shot of Julianne Hough’s hair piece she wore to the 2015 Emmys, but just trust us, it was gorgeous! The tousled look is big for fall, so this ballerina-esque headband is the perfect way to bring some elegance to the look so the undone, messy aspect of this hairstyle is still wearable for a fancy event.
This Grecian look is a classic way to incorporate these gold leaf pins, but there’s also a number of other styles you could use these dainty clips for. For gals who aren’t as big on the head gear, but still want to switch up their style and add a little pizzaz, this is an accessory that you could easily wear from the office to a dinner date.
Isn’t this elegant botanical piece for a bohemian wedding just incredible?! The metallic elements aren’t too overwhelming, and the peacock feather peeking out from behind adds just the right amount of vibrant color. For the autumn bride having an outdoor ceremony, we suggest showing this to your hair stylist.
With short crops being another fall hair trend, we loved the use of the tiny twig pins to pull back tousled strands to create a short crop up-do of sorts. Plus, these pins are so much more glamorous than your regular bobby pins..just make sure to keep a closer eye on these than you do with the plain ones. (Where do they all go anyways?)
For brides with less of a boho flair, but who still love flowery and dainty details, this hair piece is the ultimate in hair accessory perfection. Whether its a full updo, or even a half-up, half-down style, this piece is wonderfully versatile and will also be a timeless heirloom to keep for a future bride in your family.
Hair Inspiration Files :: Fall 2015 Hair and Color Trends
We’re sad to see summer go, but the new hair trends bursting on the scene are making it easier to welcome fall.
While some of summer’s trends are only getting a small tweak or are powering through to the next season, we’re also seeing lots of new colors and styles that we can’t wait to try on our amazing clients.
So whether you’re looking to simply spruce up your look with the season or you’re jonesing for a complete transformation, the latest fall 2015 hair and color trends are proving to have something for everyone.
Balayage (or ombré as it’s more widely known) is one of those color trends that isn’t going away anytime soon, however we’re expecting this fall to bring even more subtleties in the balayage technique by keeping the lighter color very minimal and peek-a-boo-esque. One of the terms used to describe this look is “babylights” and it can be done with almost any color, although we love it with a rich brown.
Speaking of rich brown, which is always one of the popular colors for fall, we’re loving cool, deep browns with just a touch of lighter color to add dimension. And for brunette ladies who want to keep it dark, but add some edge, aubergine, is one of our favorite shades for this season. For those who want to make a statement with bold, but can’t go too wild, aubergine is the perfect fit.
And don’t think we forgot about blondes! The look that was all over the fall runways was platinum blonde. Think more on the cool, silvery side of blonde rather than the golden side.
The lob is still holding strong, but if you’ve been wanting to take off a few more inches, fall’s the time to do it!
Some of this season’s hottest cuts are short crops, asymmetrical bobs, and tousled pixies. But for those who aren’t feeling shorter strands, the way to keep your mid-length or longer hair on trend and in style is with lots of layers.
We saw a big trend of one-length hair last fall, but layers are back to bring volume and movement throughout your style. Or if you’ve already got the long layers or a lob, we love how Kerry Washington added some fringe to her look.
We’re starting to see the curling wand trend fall by the wayside in favor of more tousled, imperfect and windswept styles this fall. Whether it’s curly or straight, nothing is meant to look too “done” this season.
Braids are continuing to be popular whether it’s a full fishtail or just a small braid incorporated in to a ponytail, this style remains a favorite way to add texture and playfulness to a look. Half-up, half-down styles are also taking over with the half-up top knot, or even just a played-down bouffant.
