1.) Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Shampoo

If you’re suffering from seriously greasy roots and don’t have any time to wash and style your hair this will be your saving grace.

Pureology packs a heavy punch with degreasing, so if you’re hair isn’t too bad, but just needs a little freshening make sure to use sparingly. A little bit goes a long way with this one.

The other plus-side of this dry shampoo is even though you’ll be getting rid of second day hair oil, you won’t be losing the great texture of second day hair that you can use to your advantage for holding an up do or curl if you want to change up your look.

Redken Powder Refresh 01 Aerosol Hair Powder Dry Shampoo

Redken Powder Refresh 01 is perfect for hair that has some texture. While many dry shampoos require you to brush out your hair after use, we like to use this for curly girls who don’t want to brush through their curls for fear of making them frizzy.

By holding the nozzle a slight distance away and lifting up the roots of your hair with your fingers, you can get nice, even coverage that will add life back in to your style, while also diminishing any grease. This dry shampoo also has a light minty scent that feels refreshing on the scalp as well.

Surface Trinity Dry Shampoo

This is our go-to for gals that want clean products in addition to clean hair.

Surface prides themselves on creating products that use sustainably harvested ingredients and certified organic botanicals. Their products are also sulfate, gluten and paraben free.

Beyond their focus on products the support personal health, their dry shampoo has a fantastic fresh scent that’s mild (great for anyone with aversion to overly powdery scents) and it doesn’t leave behind any residue you might get with a low-quality dry shampoo.

Tips for application:

-Lift roots with fingers.

-Spray your dry shampoo roughly 6 to 10 inches away depending on the desired amount of dry shampoo you want to use.

-Spray your roots from a variety of angles and then you can brush out with a natural bristle brush or use your fingers to gently comb out your roots, but don’t finger comb too long or you’ll introduce more oil, which is what you’re trying to avoid.

-If you feel like you’ve used too much dry shampoo you can do a quick blast with a hair dryer, otherwise your style will look as voluminous as it did on day one.
